The Xiaomi 12 Ultra has certainly not been launched to the market. This was confirmed directly by the Co-founder of Xiaomi, Lei Jun.
Jun made this statement when one of the Chinese Xiaomi fans on Weibo asked the continuation of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The launch of the phone should have been scheduled for March or April.
Jun said "Xiaomi 12 Ultra with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which was originally planned to launch in March or April, has now been cancelled,In order to make the experience even better, we upgraded it to Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and Qualcomm and Leica continued to test it for several months."
As a replacement, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be replaced with the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. The company also confirmed that the phone will carry the latest camera made by Sony.
The leaked specifications for the Xiaomi 12S Ultra are expected to bring Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 to a 120W charger. Then there is a 120Hz screen, 8GB or 12GB RAM, and storage capacity of up to 256GB.
The sensor is claimed to be able to capture more light, focus faster, and better dynamic range. Although the resolution is not yet known, rumors say that this camera is 50MP with 1.15µm pixels.In addition, Xiaomi has also collaborated with Leica. Both confirmed that they would soon release a flagship phone as a result of their collaboration.
